Dining
The on-site restaurant has won Best Hotel & Restaurant for the county of Sutherland twice. Guests can order from a menu featuring local Scotch whisky and gin from nearby distilleries. The coffee house serves unique barista coffee and food throughout the day.
Accommodations
The hotel offers individually designed ensuite rooms inside the 1819 Manse House. A separate row of bespoke shipping container guest rooms, built by Scottish company Iron and Pine, provides modern retreats within the grounds. Fully furnished 2-bedroom self-catering cottages include a private garden and a fully equipped kitchen.
Location & Activities
Farr Bay Beach, a 3-minute walk behind the inn, is a stretch of sand where otters and whales are spotted and birds of prey fly overhead. The historic village of Bettyhill contains the Strathnaver Museum in the adjacent former church and local shops with cafés. The area has some of the darkest skies in Europe for stargazing and Northern Lights hunting.
